It is true eating homemade cookie dough puts one at risk of salmonella on account of the raw eggs, however this is not necessarily the case with store-bought cookie dough as they usually contain pasteurized eggs.
With that in mind, there is no good reason to bother making cookies when one can just spoon out the primordial sweetness.
